The Sciotrope Institute has research programs focusing in two areas
Ability of Animal Studies to Predict Human Safety
We are using data science and statistics to study how well animal studies predict human safety in drug development. The ability of such studies to predict human safety differs by safety endpoint and by species used.
In-Silico Predictive Models for Safety Pharmacology
With the statistical evaluation of how well animal models are working, we are using those studies as benchmarks for evaluating the ability of AI/in-silico/QSAR models to predict human safety based on drug chemical structures and antibody sequences.
Big Data
Sciotrope has collected and curated among the world’s largest collections of biomedical data for analysis. We are using these dataset for advanced analytics around animal testing and drug safety.
- Full-text text analytics of patents, annotating those with protein/DNA sequences reported
- Curated set of over 100k FDA documents, converted to text and study data extracted with AI
- Curated FAERS data from 1970-present, with normalized product names and computed drug-event relationship statistics.
- Integration with open-source datasets such as ChEMBL and others.
